The largest species of frog is the Goliath frog, or Conraua goliath. Found primarily in the rainforests of Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, this impressive amphibian can reach lengths of over 12 inches (30 centimeters) and weigh up to 3.3 kilograms (7.3 pounds). Goliath frogs are known for their powerful legs, which enable them to jump impressive distances. They primarily inhabit areas near rivers and waterfalls, and their diet consists mainly of insects, crustaceans, and even small mammals. Despite their size, Goliath frogs are vulnerable due to habitat destruction and the pet trade.
